Will this bike suit my height?Updated 13 hours ago
Determining the appropriate bike size is crucial for comfort and performance. The two primary measurements used to determine bike size are the rider's inseam length and overall height. The inseam measurement, taken from the crotch to the floor, is especially important as it directly influences the stand over height of the bike, which is the distance from the ground to the top tube of the bike frame.
To measure your inseam, stand with your feet about 6-8 inches apart, and measure from the floor to your crotch using a book or similar object to simulate the bike seat. Once you have this measurement, you can use it to find the correct stand over height, ensuring there is about 1-2 inches of clearance between the top tube and your crotch when standing over the bike. This clearance is important for safety and comfort while riding.
Progear provides measurements on the models on the product page which you can use to compare to suggested inseam height or stand over height.
